The private, communal 20m pool is directly in front of apartment (electronic card access only), with a second pool (electronic tag access) and adjacent bar & restaurant 200m away, right by the sandy beach. A children's play area, crazy golf, free tennis courts and basketball court are next to the beachside pool. The apartment is part of a small urbanisation of privately owned houses and apartments with a number of restaurants, on the banks of the Mar Menor, Europe's largest salt water lagoon. The Mar is accessed via a boardwalk, with very shallow, warm water year round.
The apartment is fully furnished, with a washing machine. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO WIFI; enjoy a digital detox!
Los Urrutias village, with a supermarket, general shops and restaurants is a 10 minute walk away. A 25 min drive from Corvera Murcia airport or 50 minutes from Alicante airport, there are also numerous golf courses nearby with La Manga resort 10 mins drive away. Ideal for windsurfing and kite-surfing (with a dedicated space, separate from the swimming area, on the private beach), there is also a sailing school available near by. This is a very quiet resort; probably not one to bring your teenagers to if they are looking for nightlife!
The Mediterranean Sea is a 15 minute drive away, with either sandy beaches and waves on La Manga strip or the stony coves and great snorkelling of Cabo De Palos to choose from. Calblanque National Park is also an easily accessible 10 minute drive, with totally unspoilt beaches (including a nudist area for those keen on an all-over tan). Historic Cartagena with its Roman amphitheatre in the centre of town is 20 minutes away and has numerous festivals throughout the year including an excellent world music festival in June/July.
Don’t miss the Easter celebrations in the region, including L’entierro de la sardina in Murcia and various Moros y cristianos festivals in September.
