Summary: The house is an ideal location for exploring the costa brava gastronomic scene. Situated in the middle of farmers fields half way between the beach town of Sant Feliu and the provincial center of Gerona (20 min by car to both) it is in the center of the most concentrated collection of Michelin listed restaurants in the world. The local markets in nearby Llagostera are very good and the ones in Gerona and Sant Feliu are excellent. Splendid local wine shop too. We spent our time dining out and then attempting to recreate the dishes in the well equipped kitchen at the house. Spectacular seafood, pork, vegetables and local cheeses. Wines from the region are excellent. All of the above shockingly inexpensive. The house has all the modern conveniences. There is outdoor dining under the pines in the garden. The kitchen is well equipped including many of the kitchen tools that are sometimes missing in vacation rentals. An added bonus for us, one of the bedroom suites in on the ground floor. One of our party has mobility challenges. This arrangement was a huge asset. For touristic pursuits, Sant Feliu is a hopping beach town with an active club scene and Gerona has a beautiful medieval center. There are outdoor cafés everywhere for a snack and a drink and watching the world go by. We had a fabulous time.
